ANNIE MILLICAN
Annie Millican is a textile artist and designer who lives between Sedona, AZ and Providence, RI. Her work touches on themes of play, whimsy, and peace. She experiments with natural dyes and natural and synthetic yarns to explore the happy accidents that occur when materials interact on the woven grid. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her new body of work is made from natural dyes created in collaboration with artisan Olga Reiche in Guatemala, and vintage metallic yarns sourced from historic trim shops in Paris; the pieces are slow-going meditations on the natural cycles of healing.

EXHIBITIONS AT FOLKLORE
-
A group textile show featuring Ethan Caflisch, Jess Feury, Annie Millican, Jim Olarte, Kayla Powers, Emelie Richardson, and Dora Somosi.
A story about being in conversation. Stitched, woven, tied, folded - bridging past and present. Elements uncovered, remade with something new to say. The things that hold fast invite us to slow down. What surfaces when we ground? A collection of memories and imaginings settle into place. Figments find their way together, into natural harmony.
October 11 – November 17, 2025 -
An accessible art show featuring 15+ artists, including Alysha Colangeli, Annie Millican, Boramie Sao, Briana DeVoe White, Danielle Hutchens, Elena Brower, Jim Olarte, Kayla Powers, Kristin Anchors, Lauren Douglas, Logan Wannamaker, Matthew Allen, Rachel Dixon, San Canessa, Sean W. Spellman and Sedona Rigsby.
A story about being in gratitude. It is in giving that we receive. We continue our annual tradition of an accessible holiday art show with gifting in mind.
