KRISTI HEAD

Kristi Head began her classical training in the visual arts at a young age, in preparatory school, and then went on to receive her BA in Fine Art and Art History from Boston University. She continued her education at Parsons School of Design (New York, NY) as well as Anderson Ranch Arts Center (Snowmass Village, CO).

Her keen eye for composition and design has served her art practice well, by seamlessly designing and executing large scale mural projects in both Los Angeles and New York City. Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries in multiple cities, as well as being included in numerous media publications such as Domino, Surface, and Full Blede.

Kristi works in both oil and acrylic, creating evocative abstractions that often portray imagined flora with feminine overtones. Her studio practice includes experimenting with large scale canvas dying, performative processes, and wearables, such as painting on silk. A native New Yorker, Kristi lives and works in Los Angeles.

EXHIBITIONS AT FOLKLORE

  • A story about hope and rebirth. Folklore’s inaugural group show explores beauty in all phases of nature’s cycles. We honor the earth in her dormancy, the seeds we plant quietly, and the wild, divine process of unfurling.
